Product Overview

This Remote RF Exciter Board is located in the Remote-RF sub-assembly which is a part of the Multi-Generation DAQ (MGD) architecture. The Remote RF Exciter provides LO (Local Oscillator) signal that is sent to the receivers and a RHO modulated transmit (Tx) output that is sent to the system RF amplifiers. The Exciter replaces functions of the CERD (Combined Exciter Receiver Data Acquisition Board) boards used in LX (Lightning) systems. This Exciter supports Tx center frequencies from 8 to 128 MHz. This Board has 5 midplane connectors J1-J5, 4 Receiver Interface connectors J7-J10, a Tx Output Interface connector J11 and a PLD programing interface connector J13. The Boards also incorporates status LED's for power supplies, LO detect and master/slave indicator.
