Product Overview

The 50/50 Propylene Glycol Mix is recommended in most chiller/cooler systems. Propylene is the most commonly used type of inhibited glycol. The main purpose of glycol is to prevent freezing of the process fluid and ensure consistent flow at the operating temperature. It also provides corrosion resistance to steel, aluminum and few other metals. The systems treated with glycol will also be protected from algae and bacteria. It protects due to good heat resistance when the boiling raises and maintains the thermal circuit in better condition for longer durations. The propylene glycol mix is forming a homogeneous mixture when added water and most effective use of heat transference with better performance. The 50% of de-ionized water is to increase the hardness, and to provide freeze protection to -30˚F and burst protection to temperatures below -60˚F. It is usually supplied in an easy pour, shatterproof containers that can withstand freeze cycling. The fluid is dyed fluorescent yellow for leak detection purposes. It is practically odorless and exhibits low toxicity when ingested. This mix is used in many chiller appliances such as MR Signa Excite 1.5T, MR Chiller, MR Optima MR360 1.5T and CT LightSpeed 3.X Ultra 8-Slice.
