Product Overview

An O- Ring also known as a packing, or a toric joint is a type of a gasket or seal in the form of a ring with a circular cross section used to prevent leakage of fluids. O-rings are seated in a groove and subjected to compression between two or more parts thereby creating a seal at the interface.O-rings act as an excellent leak barrier and are widely used in medical equipment. They are usually made up of Viton, Neoprene, Silicone, EPR, PTFE, PU or Nitrile Rubber (also known as BUNA-N). Nitrile Rubber, the most common material used in the O-Rings, is a general purpose copolymer of butadiene and acrylonitrile. This compound has a relatively high acrylo content, making it exceptionally resistant to petroleum base oils and hydrocarbon fuels over a temperature range of -30°F to +250°F. This O-Ring is compatible to be used in GE's Lunar Anesthesia Delivery Systems.
