Product Overview

The Screw M4-0.7 x 12 Flanged Head Socket Cap Steel, Zinc Plated is a flanged head screw that is made of alloy steel, which provides high strength and is magnetic. It is also called a hex head cap screw, which are fasteners that have a six-sided head with a wide underside to spread loads evenly across the surfaces. The washer-like flange under the hex head spreads out the fastening force. These screws distribute pressure where the screw meets the surface without taking up as much space as a washer. The head height includes the flange. The length is measured from under the flange. Made of alloy steel, they are stronger than stainless steel screws. Alloy steels contain alloying elements (e.g. manganese, silicon, nickel, titanium, copper, chromium, and aluminum) in varying proportions in order to manipulate the steel's properties, such as its hardenability, corrosion resistance, strength, formability, weldability or ductility. Their zinc finish provides corrosion resistance in dry environments. Nylon patch is a pre-applied process which fuses a nylon thread locking coating to internal or external threads of fasteners making them self-locking and self-sealing.
